Dark Room Retreat with Jasmuheen

I have taken part in an intensive retreat which was held by Jasmuheen in Mantak Chia's Tao Garden in Thailand. Mantak Chia there has a facility, which is a large house the inside of which is totally insulated from any light source at all, which permits dark room therapy to be done there. Our retreat lasted for eleven days in total darkness and with no food except for fresh fruit juices three times a day for those people who desired them, me among them. Jasmuheen guided the thirty two particpants through on a nice schedule of two to three meditations/discourse/questions-and-answers sessions a day. Those meetings provided for the structure of the days in the dark. My timing was always off as I was always late in the morning and could not sleep at night. This can happen when one has no external stimuli like the change of day and night to set the inner clock. So at night I had plenty of time for solitary meditation.

The inner courtyard of the darkroom condominium, photographed before the lights went out. Notice how the columns and corners are padded so one doesn't get hurt when bumping into them. This is the gathering place/hall, whereas we lived in single or double rooms strung around the courtyard. Sorry for the bad image quality.
